The chilly weather has finally settled in here in Austin so I finally had a chance to wear some items I’ve been eager to break out. First up is this floral embroidered plaid shirt dress (hello, so many adjectives!). There’s a lot going on, and yet, it’s just the right amount of elements for me. The plaid dress on its own probably wouldn’t be my first pick, but the colorful flowers put it at the top of my wishlist for a couple of months until I finally snatched it up.
This dress is actually the only new item I’m wearing here. My vegan leather jacket was a major closet staple last fall and winter, and I’ve been rocking these fringe booties for going on three years now. The beret is something I purchased on a whim with an ASOS order near the end of last winter, but quickly decided I’d made a $10 mistake. Fortunately, I forgot to list it on Poshmark and in my closet it stayed. I still don’t think I’ll be one of those beret-wearing cuties you see on your Instagram stories, but it’s a fun accessory to pull out for the right outfit.
You might not believe me, but I actually didn’t realize how festive this outfit was until I got the photos back. The red purse was a last minute switch because I couldn’t say no to a pop of color, but now I see that I’ve got a not-so-subtle nod to Christmas going on in my accessories. Guess I was feeling the holiday spirit more than I realized!
What seasonal standbys have you been re-wearing lately? Would this outfit be appropriate for how your family celebrates the holiday, or are they more dressed up or dressed down?
