capsule fall outfits remixing

colorful fall capsule | three ways to wear floral trousers

When I was first thinking about doing a remix challenge, I considered just sharing a ton of ways to wear these floral trousers. I wear them at least once a week and I’m constantly coming up with fun, new ways to style them. A couple of people who purchased these pants after seeing this post have reached out to me about styling inspiration, too, so I’ve been excited to fulfill that need. Even if they aren’t a pieces you’re interested in adding to your closet, I really just want to drive home the idea that something as loud and un-basic as floral trousers can be versatile in your closet. Clothes you can wear a bunch of ways and for a bunch of occasions don’t have to be boring!

All of that said, I’m pretty pumped to finally be sharing the colorful fall capsule remixes with these floral trousers!

Right off the bat, let me tell you that this is probably my favorite outfit from the entire capsule and I’ve already worn it two or three times. I feel super cool, the perfect amount of “loud,” and still feminine. I haven’t really been a sneaker gal since early college, but I’m all about the pairing of this slip-on pair with these flowy pants! Plus, you know I can never get enough stripes and floral (example A, example B), so it’s really no surprise I love this. It shouldn’t have been a surprise, anyway, but this was actually the *last* outfit of the 10 I came up with! I wasn’t convinced I loved it until I got the photos back, but damn, I just feel like myself in it! It SO fits my new personal style ID too!

This look is essentially the fall version of this outfit that I wore (and loved) in the spring. It’s a little dressier than my lifestyle currently calls for, but not so over the top that I couldn’t wear it to a nighttime event or dinner. I could probably wear it to a coffee shop during the day and no one would think I was particularly overdressed, just really stylish, which is fine by me!

This last outfit has a few of the same elements as the first time I wore these trousers on the blog – red clogs and a navy top – just prepped for cooler weather. I am SO glad I finally got this Madewell denim jacket. It’s great quality in that it’s nice and warm but not at all bulky like some jean jackets I’ve owned. It’s the most perfect layering piece for basically any outfit and I’m such a fan of how it looks with these trousers.

There’s a lot to love about these pants, but one of the best is that I can pull out so many different colors from the flowers when choosing my top and accessories! In this post alone, I wore bright pink, burgundy, yellow, navy, blue, two shades of red, black, and white. If you’re looking for tips for versatile pieces in your closet, look for something with plenty of colors to mix and match with.

Next week I’ll be sharing my last three outfits from this colorful fall capsule! What have been your favorite pieces and outfits? Are you still liking the capsule challenge? Would you be into seeing another one for the winter or smaller remix challenges focusing on certain pieces instead? Lastly, how would you style these floral trousers?
