First things first: the blog got a face lift over the weekend! Be sure to look around and see all the pretty (I’m obsessed with my new homepage and I gave the ole About page a refresh too!).
Speaking of pretty, we have got to talk about this skirt. As soon as I heard ModCloth was coming to town, I opened their site to start making my wishlist. At the very top was this skirt. Unfortunately, the IRL shop didn’t have it in store, but I was able to try on some similar styles to see how it would fit (the magic of the fit shop!) and order it while in the store. Have you ever seen something so pretty?
These colors are my jam. For having so many hues, I thought this skirt might be difficult to style, but I’ve been surprised by how easy it actually is. I mentioned in my style questions post last week that I’m over relying on my chambray shirt when I come across a styling challenge, so I threw that out of the equation right off the bat (though, it does look awfully cute, in case you were wondering!). This white top is actually a crop top that I picked up last fall for a white party I attended during a work conference. I got to wear it that one time, and then it was winter, so it’s just hung in my closet for all these months! I was thrilled (and surprised, based on the cropped fit) to find that this top went so perfectly with the skirt. Ruffled sleeves and eyelet? Yes please.
While I did actually wear the outfit I blogged for my birthday, I wore this one for my birthday lunch at work the day before. When you look like a piece of rainbow cake, it’s hard not to feel festive!
The carousel necklace was a really lucky addition. I was trying to decide between statement earrings or a delicate necklace, rummaging through all my jewelry the night before I wore this. I came across the carousel necklace I had as a kid (RIP matching bracelet) and let out the most giddy squeal because, I mean, are these two items not made for each other?? Add my new Kate Spade flats and my bright red purse, and this might be my favorite outfit I’ve put together in months — if not years! I’m serving up total Palm Springs vibes, don’t you think?
