When I wore this outfit to work the other day, one of my coworkers exclaimed, “you look like a Russian grandmother!” She certainly wasn’t wrong, but I’d like to think this is a slightly updated version of Grandma’s uniform. I realized I hadn’t worn this scarf since this outfit, so I set out to plan a look around it. I spent a few minutes tying the scarf this way and that, but ultimately decided I preferred it untied; you get the full effect of all the pretty colors and prints!

I mentioned in my winter shopping recap that this blouse is one of my gold stars from the season, and I’d like to think of this outfit as Example B (this being Example A). The Henley blouse has five buttons that lead up to a round neckline without a collar. I was hesitant about buttoning it all the way up, but because of the fabric covering the buttons, I’m actually really into the look. It’s like two totally different blouses in one!

The one outfit I would have liked to wear it with before it got warmer was layered under a dress like this outfit, but I haven’t been able to find a replacement for my LBD. Why is it so hard to find exactly what I’m looking for? I’ve gotten to the point where I’d drop a pretty penny on the right dress, it just doesn’t seem to exist! This may be reason enough for me to start buying everything I love in two sizes, in case I ever grow out of it.

Your turn: how should I style this scarf next? I think the rose print is perfect for spring (because, duh), but I’m feeling uninspired so far!
