Do I look like a VIP? I wore this outfit the other night for the VIP Preview of Austin’s first Uptown Cheapskate. The store is similar to your Buffalo Exchanges and Plato’s Closets, but, in my opinion, it’s better. The gals who work there are cute and savvy, and they’re into buying your gently-loved clothing for a reasonable price. And they sell other people’s previously-loved items for a reasonable price, too!

The Austin location is right in my neighborhood, in the same shopping center as my favorite Kerbey Lane restaurant location. One morning after brunch, I wandered over to see what this new place was all about. The manager greeted me and explained that they weren’t selling clothes yet, but that they were buying clothes to fill up the store so they could open soon. Like a good style blogger, I had a bag of perfectly good Buffalo Exchange rejects in my car. I brought them in and made $50 in just a few minutes! I called up my friend and told her to hurry over and make some cash and take a look at the store. Over the next few weeks, I told several more girlfriends about it, sold a bunch more clothes, and started getting really excited for the store to open.
The open store looks awesome and I already brought home some really cute pieces! You’ll have to wait til after the 30×30 to see them on the blog, but I did bring home this super cute vintage top, a yellow corduroy mini skirt, and a polka dot tee. If you’re in Austin, make sure to pop in to buy and to sell! You can follow them on Facebook too for updates about the store and what’s trending.
This isn’t a sponsored post, I just really dig this store! All opinions, as always, are my own.
