I’ll be honest: I don’t know a lot about the true meaning of St. Patrick’s Day, but I know that I don’t like getting pinched. I started brainstorming green outfits for today and got worried that I didn’t have anything to wear. Then I realized that I actually wear green pretty frequently, but I wear it as outerwear: my favorite green sweater, my green utility jacket, and my green peacoat.
In college, I used to rock the shorts-over-tights look almost daily throughout the fall and winter. Now that I have a relatively big girl job, I don’t wear it as often, but it’s still an easy weekend outfit when I’m sick of wearing pants and I don’t feel like wearing a skirt or dress.
This particular outfit was inspired (per usual) by a look Holly posted. I swapped the stripes for polka dots and the oxfords for boots. I liked the outfit so much, I wore it to my friend’s housewarming party, and then another time to brunch.
Do you celebrate St. Patrick’s Day? Or do you, like me, participate just enough to not get pinched?
