a little change

Lovelies, it’s that time again. As the leaves begin to change (at least that’s what I hear–it definitely isn’t happening here in Austin), I start getting a restless feeling in my bones and need to make some changes for myself. (For the tl;dr version, scroll to the last paragraph.)
Lately, I’ve been feeling a little inadequate. I’m graduated from college and trying to secure my dream job, but I have a lot of support from friends, family, and colleagues reminding me that this won’t happen overnight.  To fill my time with inspiration and productivity, I’ve really been dedicating myself to blogging and figuring out what kind of blogger I want to be. I follow tons of absolutely wonderful fashion bloggers on all levels of the follower spectrum and I’ve been trying out this kind of post and that kind of voice just to see what fit. Unfortunately, a lot of it wasn’t feeling quite right. So I tried to make a list of things that would make me a better blogger:
+ a regular photographer
+ a corgi
+ a sewing machine
+ a coffee habit
These things just aren’t in the cards for me right now, but I don’t think that should stop me from being the best blogger I can be. After reevaluating some things around here on the blog, and I’ve made a decision. Moving forward, this blog will be known as Writes Like a Girl (please note the URL change!). I’m going to start writing more, rather than just posting more. For me, blogging is more than pretty, edited photographs. I have a lot of funny and important things to say about fashion, life, feminism, pop culture, relationships, body image, depression and anxiety. I want this blog to be a place for all of those things and I think this change will help me do that.
I hope you’ll come along with me! + Follow my blog with Bloglovin
